I have recently submitted a meta-analysis and got the reply from the journal that I have to adjust for clusters in studies that did not perform this, in order to make my results more reliable.
they sent me a link (of Cochrane book) that explains some things. however, the book talks about randomized/crossover trials. my analysis includes cross-sectional studies.
so is there a way you would recommend to follow to adjust for clusters?
the data I can gather from the article is the number of events, and the total number of cases for several variables.
I used these data for the main variable and calculated the Odds Ratio and the 95% CI, however, this does not adjust for clusters as you know.
kindly assist me with this if possible.
