Tableau Calculated Field: cumulative yearly percentage
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have a tableau workbook with a line graph that shows a percentage calculation (calculated field) for each discrete year.
>>I need it to show the cumulative percentage each year. <<
For example: If year 1 is 10% (e.g. 100 of 1000 points) and year 2 is 20%, (e.g. 400 of 2000 points) the cumulative percentage at year 2 is 16.6% (500 of 3000 points). Right now I have the calculation that yields 20%. I need the one that will return 16.6%.
Here is a Dropbox link to the .twb and .hyper data source, as well as screenshots of the workbook and calculated field. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fe4mklfgzd1e0q5/AADPu0kh-6xswhDvdAEXae5Xa?dl=0 If there is a better way of getting this data to you, please let me know.
I have tried hard to figure this out, but couldn’t find documentation on this. My guess is this is either something very simple for someone experienced with Tableau OR it is something you can’t do with a calculated field and requires preparing the data differently. Either way, should be pretty straightforward, so I've priced this as an "under $30" Micro-Project but I'm willing to consider slightly higher bids from experts who demonstrate they are good communicators.
