I’m working on a short-form research project (approx. 5,000 words) and need assistance from an experienced R coder to complete the data analysis portion of the project.
Project Overview:
The research investigates whether intra-party conflict within the U.S. Republican Party influences Republican voters’ attitudes — such as their trust in the party, perception of competence, and likelihood to vote. I’ll be using the 2022 Cooperative Election Study (CES) dataset, focusing on Republican respondents and subgrouping them based on indicators of factional alignment (e.g., Trump approval, ideological self-placement, etc.).
What I need from you:
I’ve drafted a detailed step-by-step brief, which includes:
The variables to extract from the CES 2022 dataset
How to code “intra-party factions” (e.g., MAGA vs. establishment Republicans)
Suggested dependent variables (e.g., vote intention, party trust, perception of party performance)
Outline of statistical methods (descriptive stats, regression models, and plots)
Deliverables:
