My company provides various training courses aimed at personal growth and entrepreneurship. In addition, it also focuses on support in learning arithmetic. A first method of arithmetic aimed at learning to think logically is under development.
Logical thinking is essential for all school subjects. From the youngest years, the child is involved with games to practice the basic principles of logical thinking. Although logical thinking runs throughout primary school, it is important that a good foundation is laid. It is my opinion that this basis is often found in calculations. A child starts adding and subtracting immediately after learning and saying the numbers from 1 to 10. Learning and listing the numbers by heart takes place in a rather structured and logical way, you would think. However, the process of learning is not logical at all. For example, how can you explain a little child what is 1 or 3 or 7? All children learn the numbers by heart. When it comes to the learning process of addition, also this is learned by heart. Thereafter subtraction is learned. Many of the calculation methods have this philosophy as their strategy.
I've always been amazed at how a child picks up on that. But yes, somehow it just happens... In a very independent and natural way every single child starts working with the instructions and examples and picks it up in no time... The child can then count.... But does this really count for all children? The question is why so many adults don’t like math at all?

The app to be developed should give all children the opportunity to get a good foundation in learning arithmetic. This foundation is anchored in learning the numbers, addition and subtraction in a systematic, logical and structured way. Through all kinds of exercises, the children can get to know the numbers without any problems, but at the same time learn to count and subtract with the numbers.
