I am a Medical Sonographer doing a higher degree by research and I need help with:
1. calculating sample size for a survey
2. calculating sample size for a clinical based research project.
3. what statistical tests I need to use for data analysis of my clinical research.
My clinical research involves performing serial ultrasound examinations on pregnant women during their pregnancy to track:
1. The change in distance of the placenta from the cervix during the pregnancy
2. The change in distance of the cord insertion into the placenta from the placental edge during the pregnancy
3. Categorising the cord insertion into the placenta as normal or abnormal, does this category change over time?
Each consenting woman will have a minimum of 3 ultrasounds during their pregnancy and the above measurements and cord insertion category will be documented.
