comparing gala apples to Granny Smith apples

I would like to compare some maintenance KPI's between two plants. One in the US, smaller in size, # employees and $ sales to one in Brazil; much larger in size, # employees and $ sales.

KPI's are cost per pound ($/#). Cost of parts used for repairs/pounds produced for the month and also - Cost of parts used for repairs+ labor costs/pounds produced for the month.

How can I standardize with international currencies - dollar vs. real at 1:0.18?
different volumes of sales and higher number of employees. Brazil is 5-6 times larger.
