R Statistical Analysis and Visualization

I'm looking for some statistical analysis on a sport dataset that I have. The dataset has 30 variables, though only about 5-8 of them will likely need to be considered in the analysis I would think. There are approx. 300,000 observations of data.
The primary question I'm trying to answer is:
(1) How does an athlete's age impact the probability of winning a medal at a sporting competition?
A secondary question I have is:
(2) Does prior competition experience impact the probability of winning a medal at a sporting competition?
The data set includes all relevant variables: age in years, age in days, competition outcome, prior competitions, prior competition experience points, etc.
I'm looking for a variety of models to be developed, so hopefully you can try the dataset on everything you have to compare how different models show the age effect on probability of success. My target audience is also looking for as much visualization as possible, so as much you can provide for that would be great. Also for visualizations, do you provide exploratory data visualizations, because that is important for me also.
