Project Objective:
To analyze the lack of impact of addiction treatment centers on residential property values in North Carolina. This analysis will involve compiling and analyzing historical home sales data within a specified radius of the following two treatment centers:
- New Waters Recovery
- Ashville Detox Center
Project Scope:
1. Data Collection:
- Gather historical property sales data for homes within a 1-3 mile radius of the two specified treatment centers, both before and after their opening.
- Data should include:
- Sale dates
- Sale prices
- Property characteristics (size, type, etc.)
- Distance from the treatment facility
- Address
2. Data Analysis:
- Analyze trends in home values over time, comparing them to regional market trends.
- Prove the presence of treatment centers has had a discernible effect on property values.
- Compare the analyzed areas to control areas (similar neighborhoods without treatment facilities) to establish a baseline.
3. Report Preparation:
- Prepare a comprehensive report summarizing the findings, including:
- A summary of the methodology used

- Clear visualizations (charts, graphs) to illustrate key findings
