Academic data analysis needed for survey data.
Data output survey set attached from: 58 Participants completed an online survey hosted on Qualtrics, which included the following validated instruments:
• Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ; Steger et al., 2006): 10 items measuring two dimensions: presence of meaning and search for meaning. Responses were rated on a 7-point Likert scale. Internal consistency in prior studies has been high (Cronbach’s α > .80).
• Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10; Cohen et al., 1983): 10 items assessing the degree to which individuals perceive life as stressful. Responses were scored on a 5-point scale. Reported reliability coefficients exceed α = .75.
• General Health Questionnaire-12 (GHQ-12; Goldberg, 1978): 12 items assessing psychological distress and general wellbeing. Scored on a 4-point Likert scale. Reliability ranges from α = .80 to .90.
Demographic items were also included (age, gender identity, language fluency) to confirm eligibility.
Data Analysis needed
Data were analysed using SPSS Statistics and the PROCESS macro (Hayes, 2018). Initial screening included checking for missing data, normality, and outliers. Descriptive statistics and bivariate correlations were conducted for all variables.
The following statistical tests were employed:
• Correlation analysis: Pearson’s r was used to assess the relationship between meaning in life (MLQ total score) and psychological distress (GHQ-12 total score).
• Multiple regression analysis: Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression was conducted to examine whether meaning in life significantly predicted psychological distress after controlling for perceived stress.
• Mediation analysis: A bootstrapped mediation analysis was performed using PROCESS Model 4 to determine whether perceived stress mediated the relationship between meaning in life and psychological distress. Bias-corrected bootstrapping (5,000 samples) was employed to assess the significance of indirect effects. Confidence intervals were examined to determine whether the mediation was partial or full.
All variables were mean-centred prior to regression to reduce multicollinearity. The alpha level was set at .05 for all inferential tests.
