Geospatial data analysis

Job ID: 36732873

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I am looking for a skilled analyst to conduct a medium level detail geospatial data analysis for my project. The purpose of the analysis is for demographic analysis. The ideal candidate should have experience with GIS data and be proficient in data visualization tools.
Topic: "Analyzing Points of Interest (POIs) in a City" : i want tel aviv.
PYTHON and SQL in QGIS.
first we should start gathering data across the web to be sure there is enough such data for you to work with.
. Grading criteria’s:
a. Are the most relevant data sources acquired for the desired problem?
b. Cross referencing multiple data sources to gain meaningful insights.
c. Data handling – in the most appropriate way (Tiles? DB? Which DB? Files? What format if so and why? Etc.)
d. Usage of PostGIS SQL queries for the solution.
e. Usage of GIS libraries and packages in the coding parts.
f. Implementing correctly spatial analysis methods.
g. Implementing correctly map presentation methods (like choropleth).
h. Create something new – bring new insight into the data or creative idea. Don’t just recycle well known trivial phenomena (for that we have HW assignments).
i. Usage of additional tools, like routing, map matching and complex concepts (Voronoi diagram etc.).
j. Presentation – Should be in a way that delivers the GIS/spatial message: It’s not about nice slides, it’s about right maps and right digital map tooling to represent/show spatial insight: Sliding window, time slider, cartography etc. Applicable whether the final format platform is slide deck or interactive web page/mobile App.
k. Invested efforts – will be seen from the discussions with the lecturer during the semester. Raising questions when there are problems, asking for opinion when there are intermediate results, updating about progress etc. It’s a project, not a “fire & forget” HW assignment.

What to do:
1. Geofence: e.g., one city – Tel Aviv better than Jerusalem
2. Get the data: OSM? Municipality GIS website
3. Cross analysis with another non-spatial data.
4. Be specific (to achieve 3 above) – Not all POI’s, rather focus on single type.
5. Analysis: ESDA (presentation #8) & Graphs (routing etc. presentation #9).
6. Tourism – Most probably NYC, London, Paris will have better data – so this will be your focus geofenced city (1 above).

So at the end i want analysis in QGIS program. with all the data files and all the maps and all the things you did and a small presentation PowerPoint for what you did in the project.
