Freelance Data Analysis Project - Comprehensive Analysis of Global Energy Prices and Their Impact on Local Fuel and Gas Markets

We are seeking a freelance data analyst to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between global oil prices, local fuel prices, and other local factors affecting fuel prices for a fuel station retailer. The project will use data from the past 5 years, including local fuel price data (provided by us), and global prices such as Brent/crude oil and LPG, which the freelancer will obtain from reliable online sources. We will also provide other locally related data such as fuel imports data and etc.
The key objective of this project is to unravel patterns and trends, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of how global energy prices and local factors influence local fuel prices. The freelancer will handle the tasks of data importation and cleaning, which includes addressing missing or incorrect data points. The data will then be transformed into an analyzable format, setting the stage for the application of appropriate statistical and visualization techniques.
The analysis will include examining how changes in global energy prices (brent & LPG) impact local fuel & LPG prices, and how local prices vary based on the volume of oil imports into the country. Additionally, we will explore the impact of other factors such as seasonality, weather temperature, and economic indicators on local prices. By considering all these factors, we aim to provide a comprehensive view of the dynamics of the local fuel market.
The output of this analysis should include interactive dashboards and visualizations, enabling the fuel station retailer to easily identify patterns and trends in the data. The insights derived from this analysis will serve to guide the retailer in making data-driven decisions regarding pricing strategies, inventory management, and other fuel sales-related business operations.
We are looking for a freelancer who has a strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and data visualization. The candidate should be proficient in software tools such as Excel, Power BI, and R or Python. They should have experience in working with large datasets and be able to handle data cleaning and manipulation. The freelancer should be able to deliver the project within the given timeframe and communicate effectively with the client to ensure the project meets their requirements.
