Correlation of socioeconomic status and health related quality of life in caregivers of children with autism

I am doing a quantitative correlation study, I wanted to know the no. of samples I can take for my research proposal. I wanted to know if there is any correlation between socio economic status and health related quality of life in caregivers of children with autism.
What would be the data analysis of this correlation.
