Archaeological Artifact Analysis

Job ID: 32359671

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

Provide basic analyses for a data set (nominal data, binary and categorical measures) with 31 cases and 36 variables describing artifacts from archaeological research.
Data and variable and value descriptions are in Excel and docx files (attached*)

Freelancer needs to provide their own software to be used for analyses to include univariate and bivariate analysis of nominal data.

Proposal must specify the software to be used and the nature of the files to be provided, including text files of reports in formats accessible to contractor.
Services provided will first be a bid for part 1l a secondly an hourly rate for future work, with possibility of quotes for specific jobs.

Applicants must provide a proposal including:
a) Specifying the statistical package to be used and the file types to be provided
b) A bid/price for step 1 described below
c) the hourly cost for additional work.

Once freelancer is approved,
the step #1:
Create a command file that associates variable codes and values with data in the excel file, creating a command file that includes the variable descriptions and descriptions with variables and the value descriptions with the Value codes.

And produce frequency tables for each of the variables in the excel file, with the output saved to an editable file which shows the names and codes for variables and associated values, along with the frequency and % for each value for each of the variables

Step #2
A. Once this is reviewed, then the step will be to run all of the frequencies separately for two subsets of the data (variable Structure values T vs others)

B. Cross-tabs

1- ThSF-Color x ThFDC, THM-Color, ThMCSF
2- ThMCSF X ThMS-F, ThMS-R
3- ThMS-F X ThMS-R
4- Thm-Color x ThMS-C, THMS-CC
5- ThMS-C x THMS-CC
6- THMCT-3 X THMCT X THMC-SM
7- ThSF-color X THM-color, THMS-C, THMS-CC

C. Also provide frequencies comparing each pair of variables on the panels (left variables 22-28 vs right 29-35), so 22vs29, 23vs30, etc. 28vs35

D. Also frequencies for L and R panel variables (22-35) separately, separated into subgroups based on variable Structure (T vs. others) as above.

Step 3
Then propose analyses to identify patterns in the artifacts.
Use variables 11-21 to determine typical profile, different patterns, types (i.e., MDS, cluster analysis, entailment)

Reduce/Combine left & right side panel variables (22-35) to produce characterization of overall features of panels and typology of panels
