SSL & SSH Setup on CyberPanel
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I’m running a dedicated Ubuntu server managed through CyberPanel (currently on SSLV2) to host several websites. The primary site already has a valid certificate, but every sub-domain—including the server’s own hostname—still presents a self-signed cert. I want every one of them covered by a Let’s Encrypt SSL, ideally through a single wildcard or individual certificates if that proves simpler.
The box is used mainly for website hosting, so uptime and a clean certificate chain are critical. Custom DNS settings at the registrar may be needed for the DNS-01 challenge, and I’d like any custom security settings you apply documented so I can replicate them later.
Alongside the SSL work, I need SSH opened up for access from any location with no idle-timeout issues. Connection must be smooth via PuTTY and even basic telnet for quick checks. Please harden the configuration while keeping it unrestricted geographically.
You’ll receive full root access plus registrar credentials.
Deliverables
• Fully issued and installed Let’s Encrypt certificates for the main domain, all sub-domains, and the host name—no browser warnings.
• Updated DNS records (A/CNAME or TXT for DNS-01) reflecting the new cert setup.
• SSH configured for global access, tested with PuTTY and telnet, with session timeouts disabled yet remaining secure.
• A brief log of the custom security settings you applied and the exact CyberPanel steps taken.
Acceptance
A quick SSL Labs scan must show an A rating for every domain and sub-domain, and an SSH login from an external network should remain active for at least 60 minutes without disconnecting.
