SAP SSL Handshake Troubleshooting
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
Our SAP landscape suddenly refuses to complete the SSL handshake with a third-party API. The error we see in the ICM trace is a straight “handshake failure”; there are no certificate warnings and the connection dies before any application data is exchanged. We did not touch the SAP profile parameters or the external endpoint, so the root cause is still a mystery.
I need someone comfortable with both SAP Basis administration and general networking who can step in and:
• Review STRUST certificates, SNC parameters, and ICM/ICF settings for hidden pitfalls.
• Verify cipher suites, protocol versions, and SNI requirements on both sides.
• Provide a concise report of the findings and apply or advise on the fix.
Access is via VPN to the SAP application server (NetWeaver 7.5, Linux) plus the external API’s test endpoint. I will be available to restart services or import certificates on-demand, so we can iterate quickly.
Successful completion means the API call reaches its functional payload without SSL errors and the steps taken are documented clearly for audit purposes.
