Squarespace Referral Tracking Setup
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I run my online store on Squarespace and want to reward partner companies that send customers my way. After each successful checkout I need to see who referred the buyer so I can release the agreed-upon commission.
Here is what I have and what I need built:
• The site is already live on Squarespace Commerce.
• I keep sales and partner data in my own external database, so the tracking solution must write to that table (MySQL/Postgres—happy to give you full schema and API access).
• I am flexible on the actual tracking method—unique referral links, coupon codes, or a short partner form are all fine as long as the referrer is unambiguously tied to the final order. Suggest whichever approach you feel is most robust inside the Squarespace ecosystem.
• For payouts I plan to review the report manually and then issue commissions, so an exportable report (CSV or Google Sheet) listing order ID, referral ID, commission due, and payout status will do the trick for now.
Deliverables
1. Code or Squarespace-compatible snippets that capture the referrer at the first touch and pass it all the way through to order completion.
2. A small webhook, API call, or script that logs order + referrer + timestamp + commission amount into my existing database.
3. An admin view or automated weekly export that summarizes commissions owed.
4. Clear installation notes so I can re-apply the setup after future template changes.
If you have previous experience with Squarespace custom code injections, Commerce APIs, or tools such as Zapier, Integromat/Make, or Google Tag Manager, please mention it so I know we’re speaking the same language. I’m ready to provide database credentials and staging access as soon as we agree on the approach and timeline.
