Rental Dress & Jewelry Desktop Software

I run a rental boutique that offers dresses and jewellery, and I need a Windows desktop application that keeps the whole operation under one roof. The software must let me:

• Track every item in my inventory—sizes, colours, quantities, rental status and maintenance history—so I always know what’s on-hand and what’s out.
• Handle customer bookings from walk-ins or phone enquiries, reserve items against specific dates, flag overlaps and produce a clear calendar view.
• Process payments at pick-up and return, store partial deposits, generate receipts and show an at-a-glance balance sheet for each booking.

A responsive, clutter-free interface is essential; speed matters when customers are waiting. Data should be stored locally (SQL or SQLite are fine) and backed up through a simple one-click routine. I’m happy with tools such as C#, .NET (WinForms or WPF), Electron or anything comparable—as long as the final build installs cleanly on Windows 10/11 with no extra licence fees.

Acceptance criteria
• I can add, edit and archive inventory items.
• Double-booking is prevented automatically.
• Each transaction records the payment method and prints or emails a receipt.
• All records persist after closing and reopening the program.
• An executable installer and well-commented source code are delivered.
