Power BI Modbus Monitoring Dashboard
Budget: ₹750 – ₹1,250 INR
I need a live dashboard built in Power BI—or a comparable self-hosted BI tool—that polls my remote embedded devices over Modbus TCP and turns the stream into clear, actionable visuals. The devices expose performance metrics (throughput, temperature, voltage, etc.) along with real-time status flags, and both must be visible at a glance.
Your work starts with creating reliable data acquisition: the Modbus queries, any gateway or connector configuration, and the refresh logic that keeps the data flowing with minimal latency. Once the data lands, design an intuitive model so I can slice by device, time window, and metric type without rewriting DAX or SQL each time.
The interface itself should centre on two visual styles—graphs / charts for trends and comparisons, and real-time data tables for instant values or alerts. I do not need maps or geo layers. Clean, responsive layout is important; this dashboard will run on a wall monitor as well as a laptop.
Deliverables
• .pbix (or equivalent project file) with all Modbus connections, data model, measures, and visuals
• Any helper scripts, gateway settings, or custom connectors required to reach the devices
• Short, step-by-step setup guide so I can add new devices or move the solution to another server
Acceptance criteria
• Data updates ~ 5 mins over multiplt devices (50+)
• All chosen metrics and status bits displayed correctly in both the charts and live tables
• No hard-coded paths, IPs, or credentials in the published file
If you have previously connected Modbus-TCP hardware to Power BI, please let me know; otherwise outline the tooling you plan to use. I’m ready to grant remote access to a test device as soon as we agree on the approach.
