Ignition SCADA Designer
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I’m building out a new Inductive Automation Ignition project and need an experienced hand focused on the SCADA side—specifically the HMI / visualization layer. The core platform is already licensed and running; what I’m missing is the polished, operator-friendly front end and the glue that ties it to our field data.
Here’s what the engagement looks like:
• Design and configure intuitive HMI screens (Vision or Perspective—whichever you’re fastest with) that follow ISA-101 style guidelines and my company’s color palette.
• Bind live tags coming from several Allen-Bradley PLCs and assorted Modbus sensors, including alarms, set-points, and trending.
• Log process and quality data to an existing SQL database; all schemas are ready, you just need to map the tags and create historical graphs.
• Implement navigation, security zones, and role-based visibility so operators, maintenance, and managers each see the right level of detail.
• Document any custom scripts or templates so I can maintain them later.
Acceptance criteria:
– All PLC, sensor, and database connections online and showing live values.
– No tag quality errors or red overlays when the gateway restarts.
– Screens load in under two seconds on a standard panel PC.
– A short hand-off session with me walking through every template and script.
- Python/Scripting: Ignition uses Jython (Python for Java). They should be able to write custom scripts for complex logic that built-in tools can't handle
- PLC/Industrial Knowledge: Must understand how to read tags from a PLC (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and understand industrial protocols like OPC UA and MQTT.
- Core Certified, Gold preferred
- Database Specialist
