End-To-End BlueYonder WMS Development

Job ID: 40369496

Budget: $8 – $15 USD

Freelance BlueYonder WMS Developer (MOCA, SQL, Java) — End-to-End Ownership

We’re looking for an experienced freelance or contract BlueYonder WMS Developer to take full ownership of customizing and enhancing warehouse transaction workflows. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can independently design, implement, test, and support WMS logic in a live operational environment.

This is not an integration-only role — the work is focused on modifying behavior inside WMS transactions, including allocation, picking, receiving, and putaway logic.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement custom business logic directly within BlueYonder WMS using MOCA commands
Extend and enhance existing transaction flows such as allocation, picking, receiving, and putaway
Develop wrapper or extension logic while preserving standard WMS functionality
Build and modify SQL queries to support real-time warehouse decision-making (e.g., inventory selection, prioritization rules)
Debug and resolve production issues by analyzing MOCA logs, trace files, and transaction flows
Implement conditional logic based on business rules (e.g., part family, supplier, inventory attributes)
Ensure that customizations do not disrupt standard system behavior or warehouse operations
Perform end-to-end testing (positive, negative, and edge cases) before deployment
Handle production support scenarios and apply fixes using safe deployment strategies (e.g., soft bounce, controlled rollout)
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with BlueYonder (JDA) WMS
Proven experience writing and modifying MOCA commands
Solid understanding of warehouse transaction flows (allocation, picking, receiving, putaway)
Strong SQL skills (Oracle or similar), including joins, filtering, and performance considerations
Experience working with custom logic layered on top of standard WMS commands (wrapper scripts, conditional flows)
Ability to debug using MOCA trace logs, transaction analysis tools, and SQL validation
Familiarity with Java-based integrations or service layers interacting with WMS
Understanding of inventory structures, part master data, and warehouse configuration tables
Preferred Certifications (Nice to Have)

Candidates who hold any of the following certifications will be strongly preferred:

BlueYonder (JDA) WMS Technical Certification (MOCA / Development Track)
BlueYonder WMS Functional Certification
BlueYonder Platform or Integration Certification
Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for SQL/Database
Oracle Certified Java Programmer (or equivalent Java certification)
Supply Chain certifications such as CSCP or CPIM from ASCM

Note: Hands-on experience with BlueYonder WMS and MOCA customization is more important than certifications. Candidates should be able to demonstrate real-world implementation experience during the interview process.

Nice to Have
Experience with Jasper Reports or MOCA-based reporting
Exposure to EDI or file-based integrations (e.g., SFTP workflows)
Experience working in multi-warehouse or multi-client environments
Knowledge of safe deployment practices in WMS environments
Expected Deliverables
Fully implemented and tested MOCA-based customizations for warehouse transaction flows
Clean, maintainable command logic with clear separation from standard functionality
SQL queries supporting custom business rules and data validation
Documentation of logic, configuration dependencies, and deployment steps
Debugging support and issue resolution for production scenarios
Validation of changes through structured test scenarios before release
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can work independently, take ownership, and deliver end-to-end — from understanding requirements to deploying working solutions in a live warehouse environment. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug real production issues are critical.
