Database for Small Business Inventory Management

- Preferred Database System: Open to either SQL or NoSQL
- Primary Purpose: Inventory Management
- Anticipated Data Storage: Less than 1GB

Business logic description:

Preparation of Shelves and Racks

Labeling of Shelves and Racks: Create unique barcodes for each shelf and rack. This will allow for quick identification of the location of each item.
Coding System: Use a clear coding system, for example, the first digits to denote the rack, followed by the shelf.
Development of Data Entry Process

Inventory Availability Check: Before adding a new item, an employee should scan existing barcodes or use the search in your system to ensure the item is not already logged.
Creation of New Positions: If the item is new, the employee must enter information about the item (name, quantity, date of receipt, notes) and create a new barcode.
Printing and Sticking Barcode: After creating a new barcode, it should be printed and affixed to the item.
Scanning the Storage Location: Scan the barcode of the shelf where the item will be stored and link this information to the item in your system.
Integration with Software

Database: Develop a simple database where all data will be stored. Use SQL or NoSQL solutions depending on our needs.
User Interface: Create a simple and intuitive interface for data entry and search.
Training and Instructions for Employees

Written Instructions: Create detailed written instructions and guidelines for using the system.
