SPSS MERGE QUESTIONS BY BRAND

I have a survey that asks a question twice with piped in brands. I need for this question to be combined so that both versions are merged together and this variable added to the SPSS data file by brand. This needs to take place for one pair (Q5/Q7) and then a second pair (Q6/Q8). The existing SPSS file will be submitted and freelancer to add these variables to the back of the file.
