Gold Exploration Geology Expertise
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
Experienced Structural/Exploration Geologist Wanted – Teetulpa Gold Project (South Australia)
We are seeking an experienced exploration or structural geologist to work with us on an exciting gold exploration project in the historic Teetulpa Goldfield region of South Australia.
This is not a conventional consulting role. We have spent more than seven years conducting field exploration, historical research, geological interpretation and developing our own exploration model. We are looking for an independent technical expert who is willing to critically assess our work, challenge our assumptions where necessary, and help strengthen or refine our geological model using evidence-based interpretation.
Much of the work will involve detailed geological mapping using Google Earth, government geological datasets, satellite imagery, geophysical data and our extensive field observations. You will help us interpret regional and local structural geology, identify prospective controls on gold mineralisation, and convert complex geological relationships into practical exploration targets.
Scope of Work
We are looking for assistance with:
* Reviewing and critically assessing our current geological and mineralisation model.
* Identifying alternative structural or geological interpretations where appropriate.
* Interpreting geological maps, satellite imagery, DEMs, magnetic data and field observations.
* Assisting with structural mapping, fold interpretation, fault analysis and geological reconstruction.
* Helping plan field investigations to test geological concepts.
* Providing guidance on field mapping, structural measurements, sampling strategies and data collection.
* Producing clear geological maps, cross-sections and conceptual models suitable for exploration decision-making.
* Identifying priority exploration targets and recommending future work programs.
Our Project
Our work focuses on understanding the broader Teetulpa mineral system rather than simply following historical workings. We are investigating regional structural controls, fold geometries, fault systems, Proterozoic stratigraphy, hydrothermal fluid pathways and the relationship between historical gold occurrences and the surrounding geological architecture.
Our exploration combines:
* Seven years of field observations.
* Extensive historical mining research.
* Geological mapping.
* Metal detecting and surface prospecting results.
* Government geological datasets.
* Satellite and terrain analysis.
* Development of an evolving regional gold mineralisation model.
Ideal Experience
We’re particularly interested in geologists with experience in:
* Proterozoic gold systems.
* Structural geology and fold belt interpretation.
* Orogenic and hydrothermal gold deposits.
* Geological mapping.
* GIS and Google Earth interpretation.
* Exploration targeting.
* Australian greenfields or brownfields exploration.
Experience within the Adelaide Fold Belt, Curnamona Province, Gawler Craton or similar geological environments would be highly regarded but is not essential.
Working Arrangement
This role is fully remote.
We are happy to collaborate through Zoom, Google Meet, email and shared cloud folders. Live screen-sharing sessions to review mapping, cross-sections and exploration concepts will form an important part of the project.
We are looking for someone who enjoys solving geological puzzles, is comfortable challenging ideas with evidence, and can clearly explain complex geology in practical terms.
If this sounds like your type of project, we’d love to hear about your experience, your approach to structural interpretation, and your availability.
