Spring Boot 3.5 to 4.0 Migration and AWS CDK Development

Freelancer Needed – Spring Boot 3.5 → 4.0 Migration + AWS CDK (TypeScript)
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced freelance developer to support an existing application modernization effort involving:
Migration of a backend application from Spring Boot 3.5 to Spring Boot 4.0
AWS infrastructure development and updates using AWS CDK with TypeScript
Identifying and resolving compatibility issues, deprecated APIs, and dependency updates
Ensuring application stability, performance, and successful deployment after migration
Responsibilities:
Analyze existing Spring Boot application and plan migration to Spring Boot 4.0
Upgrade project dependencies and resolve breaking changes
Refactor code where needed to support Spring Boot 4.0 compatibility
Review and update AWS infrastructure code using AWS CDK (TypeScript)
Create or modify AWS resources and deployment pipelines
Troubleshoot build, deployment, and runtime issues
Perform testing and validation after migration
Document migration steps and changes made
Required Skills:
Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
Hands-on experience migrating Spring Boot applications across versions
Strong knowledge of Spring ecosystem:
Spring Security
Spring Data
REST APIs
Maven/Gradle
Experience with AWS CDK using TypeScript
Good understanding of AWS services such as:
EC2
Lambda
ECS/EKS (if applicable)
S3
RDS
IAM
Dynamo db
CloudWatch
API Gateway
SQS,SNS,eventbridge
Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Git version control experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with enterprise application migrations
Knowledge of containerization (Docker)
Experience with infrastructure-as-code best practices
Ability to work independently and provide migration recommendations
