# Senior Backend Java Developer (Spring Boot)
## Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Java Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services, FinTech solutions, and API integrations. The successful candidate will play a key role in connecting the organization's core systems with third-party services such as mobile operators, e-money providers, digital wallets, and payment platforms, with a strong focus on security, performance, and reliability.
## Key Responsibilities
### 1. Backend Development & Innovation
* Lead backend development for FinTech projects, including digital wallets, payment engines, and automation platforms.
* Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
* Propose, prototype, and implement new features to improve system performance, scalability, and reliability.
* Continuously enhance and support existing Mobile Money and payment processing backend systems.
### 2. Software Quality & Database Management
* Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
* Ensure all services comply with security, performance, and industry best practices.
* Design, optimize, and maintain Oracle databases.
* Write complex SQL queries, manage database migrations, indexing, and performance tuning.
### 3. API & Third-Party Integrations
* Build, maintain, and support integrations using REST, SOAP, ISO 8583, and other industry-standard protocols.
* Integrate with mobile network operators, digital wallets, Electronic Money Institutions (EMIs), payment switches, and payment gateways.
* Troubleshoot and optimize third-party integrations to ensure high availability and reliability.
### 4. System Design & Technical Leadership
* Design scalable backend architectures and integration strategies aligned with business requirements.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient and secure solutions.
* Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
* Promote Agile development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and software engineering best practices.
## Required Skills & Qualifications
### Mandatory Requirements
* Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security).
* Proven experience building REST and SOAP APIs.
* Hands-on experience with ISO 8583 and other financial messaging protocols.
* Deep understanding of microservices architecture and the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
* Experience integrating with digital wallets, telecom operators, EMIs, payment switches, or banking/payment platforms.
* Strong Oracle database experience, including complex queries, indexing, optimization, and performance tuning.
* Experience deploying applications on Oracle WebLogic Server or similar Java EE application servers.
* Proficiency with GitHub/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
* Minimum 5 years of backend Java development experience in FinTech, payments, banking, or enterprise integrations.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
### Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in a related field.
* Experience with high-volume transaction processing systems.
* Knowledge of payment industry standards and security best practices.
