Remote Backend Engineer for B2B Shop, located in Spain

We are seeking a talented backend engineer to join our dynamic Spanish SCRUM team remotely for 4-6 months, covering paternity leave. This role offers the chance to engage in challenging and rewarding tasks, primarily focusing on legacy code refactoring.

What You'll Do:
- Legacy Code Refactoring: Simplify the complexity of our well-documented but over-engineered legacy code to improve performance and maintainability.
- Lifecycle Management: Ensure smooth operation and maintenance of our systems.
- New Feature Development: Collaborate with the team to design and implement innovative features.

Key Skills Required:
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Experience with SQL Server and REST API
- Familiarity with Apache Kafka and jUnit (preferably Mockito)
- Knowledge of CommerceTools is a plus
- Experience with Swagger, OpenAPI, and Postman is a plus
- Good English and Spanish language skills
