Java Hotel Booking DevOps System
Budget: ₹600 – ₹1,500 INR
I’m building a focused room-booking module for our hotel and I want it written in Java, wrapped in sound DevOps practices from day one.
Scope
– Core service to handle Room bookings only; housekeeping and events are outside this phase.
– Required functions: Booking calendar with clear daily/weekly views, real-time Room availability checks, and integrated Payment processing (mock gateway is fine for now).
– Single user tier: Admin access. No staff or guest self-service yet.
Tech stack & workflow
Code in modern Java (Java 17 or later is preferred) with a lightweight framework such as Spring Boot or Micronaut. Please containerise the app (Docker), set up a minimal CI/CD pipeline (GitHub Actions or similar) and include infrastructure-as-code scripts so I can redeploy easily. A small in-memory database is acceptable for demonstration, but structure it so we can swap to MySQL later.
Deliverables
1. Source code with clear README.
2. Dockerfile and pipeline script.
3. SQL or migration scripts for table creation.
4. Brief test plan plus unit tests covering booking logic.
Acceptance criteria
• Admin can create, modify and cancel bookings through the calendar view.
• Availability updates instantly after each action.
• Payment endpoint simulates a transaction and records confirmation.
• Project builds cleanly in the pipeline and starts via `docker compose up`.
Timeline is flexible within reason, but please outline the milestones you’ll hit and the environments you’ll cover.
