Implement Virtual SOC Lab Project
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I need a cybersecurity professional to complete a Security Operations Center (SOC) lab project in a virtual environment consisting of a Kali Linux attacker machine, a victim machine, and a monitoring machine. The project requires configuring Splunk and log forwarding, installing and configuring Snort IDS, creating custom detection rules, integrating Snort alerts with Splunk, using TestMyNIDS to generate and detect multiple attacks, setting up SSH and performing a Hydra brute-force attack with corresponding Snort detection rules, installing and using Greenbone/OpenVAS to perform a vulnerability scan, and capturing screenshots proving each stage works correctly. The final deliverables should include the fully configured lab environment, evidence/screenshots for all tasks, and a well-structured 15–20 page report (maximum 3,000 words) containing an introduction, step-by-step explanations with screenshots, and a conclusion. Experience with Splunk, Snort, Kali Linux, Hydra, Greenbone/OpenVAS, VMware or VirtualBox, Linux administration, and SOC/SIEM concepts is required. Please provide your estimated completion time, pricing, and examples of similar projects you have completed.
