Spanish Live Simultaneous Conference Interpreters for Community Meetings (Zoom)

We are seeking experienced Spanish simultaneous conference interpreters for community meetings conducted via Zoom. The meetings are organized by the Redevelopment Department of the city to discuss new developments and projects in specific neighborhoods. Interpreters will be responsible for providing simultaneous interpretation of the speaker’s message, without the need for back-and-forth interpreting.

Those meetings are usually scheduled for 6 pm EST, but the time may vary occasionally.

The frequency is approximately once per week, but this can also change.


Responsibilities:

• Provide simultaneous interpretation of English to Spanish during Zoom meetings focused on community developments.
• Review and prepare in advance with provided meeting materials (both in English and Spanish) to ensure accurate interpretation.
• Maintain professional conduct and remain focused on conveying the speaker’s message to the Spanish-speaking community.

Requirements:

• Fluency in both English and Spanish.
• Proven experience in simultaneous interpretation, preferably in community meetings.
• Ability to work independently and prepare in advance using the provided materials.
• Reliable internet connection and proficiency in using Zoom’s interpretation feature.

Additional Information:

• This is a freelance opportunity, not a full-time or part-time position.
• Availability is on an as-needed basis, depending on scheduled community meetings.
