Vietnam Oud Wood Sourcing Guide

I will be visiting Vietnam soon and I’m looking for a local Vietnamese expert with genuine experience in the agarwood (oud) market.

This is for my personal collection and personal use only. I am not looking for bulk purchases, exporting services, or a sourcing company.

I simply want someone experienced to accompany me while shopping, help me identify authentic natural agarwood, and make sure I pay fair local prices instead of tourist prices.

I want someone who already knows the market—not someone who plans to search online after accepting the job.

Your role

* Accompany me during my shopping trips.
* Take me to reputable local sellers where knowledgeable Vietnamese buyers shop.
* Help me identify authentic natural agarwood and avoid fake, treated, or overpriced products.
* Explain the quality, grading, scent, resin content, and value of each piece.
* Negotiate prices with sellers when appropriate.
* Give me honest advice on whether a piece is worth buying.

I’m looking for someone who:

* Has several years of experience buying or selling Vietnamese agarwood.
* Knows the real local market and trusted sellers.
* Speaks both Vietnamese and English.
* Is honest, patient, and comfortable explaining the differences between various grades of agarwood.
* Can help me make informed purchasing decisions.

Important

I am not interested in luxury boutiques or tourist-oriented shops.

I want to visit places where locals and experienced collectors buy authentic agarwood at fair market prices.

If you have any relationship with the sellers you recommend or receive commissions from them, please disclose this in your proposal.
