Black Beauty Product Sourcing
Budget: $30 – $250 CAD
I’m launching a Black-owned beauty-supply startup and I need a sourcing specialist who can lock in reliable, competitively priced inventory for three core categories—haircare, skincare, and makeup/cosmetics. I already have a shortlist of specific brands that must be included; part of the job will be negotiating access to those lines while also suggesting complementary products that align with the same quality and cultural appeal.
Here’s what success looks like to me:
• A vetted spreadsheet (or Airtable) of distributors, wholesalers, or direct manufacturers who can supply the named brands in all three categories, complete with contact details, MOQs, lead times, pricing tiers, and shipping terms.
• Side-by-side cost comparison and recommended opening orders that balance variety with my startup budget.
• Written confirmation or email trails showing that each supplier is willing to work with a new retailer in the U.S. market and can provide authentic goods.
• A brief summary of any additional indie or up-and-coming Black-owned brands you think would resonate with my target audience.
I’m not looking for website development or logo work at this stage—just a sharp, well-connected sourcing pro who can move quickly. Experience in beauty supply chains, existing contacts in the U.S. and international cosmetics space, and the ability to navigate brand authorization requirements will set you apart.
Let me know your turnaround time for the initial supplier list and how you typically verify product authenticity.
