Surreal Dance Film Collaboration

Job ID: 40445807

Budget: £10 – £20 GBP

I want to translate my movement practice—rooted in the body and the Divine—into a short experimental film that feels dream-like, dark, and gently unsettling. Picture slow-motion gestures dissolving into grainy flashes, whispers of light, and symbolic cutaways that invite viewers into the liminal space between spirit and skin.

The core of the piece is a solo performance (3–5 minutes on screen) choreographed by me. Together, we will weave three intertwined themes: spirituality and the divine, human connection and emotion, and the quiet metamorphosis that accompanies inner growth. I’m committed to an abstract, highly symbolic visual language, so I’m drawn to collaborators who enjoy playing with double exposures, practical in-camera tricks, collage editing, or unexpected sound design to distort time and perception.

Process
• Pre-production: We’ll meet virtually to exchange visual references and build a loose storyboard or shot list that leaves room for discovery on set.
• Production: A one-day shoot on location (I can secure a minimalist studio or an outdoor setting depending on your concept). I will handle choreography; you direct camera, lighting, and atmosphere.
• Post: You lead the edit, colour grade, and soundscape, delivering a polished file ready for festival submission plus a separate 15-second teaser for social sharing.

Acceptance criteria
• Final master: 4K .mov or .mp4, 3–5 minutes, colour-graded and sound-mixed.
• Teaser: 1080p vertical and square cuts.
• Raw footage and project files transferred on completion.

Tool choice is yours—whether that’s RED, Blackmagic, Super 8, or a hybrid approach—as long as it supports rich texture and experimentation. If this kind of boundary-pushing, spiritually charged work excites you, let’s explore how our disciplines can fuse on screen.
