Edit Engaging Family Travel Vlogs
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I film a growing family-travel vlog and now need a creative editor who can turn the raw footage into 15- to 30-minute episodes that feel as polished as Ali Abdaal’s videos yet still retain the warmth of our on-the-road moments. Most sequences will be a mix of steady storytelling and occasional fast-paced montages, so I’m after someone comfortable blending both rhythms without letting either dominate.
Here’s the vibe I’m going for: clean, minimal graphics and well-timed jump cuts inspired by Ali’s educational style, punctuated with playful on-screen elements—think the little cartoon faces Claire Saffitz’s team slips over a perfect pastry. Simple cuts should carry most scenes, but when the story calls for it I’d love tasteful whip-pans, speed ramps, or other creative transitions that feel earned rather than flashy. Sound design, light colour correction, and royalty-free music curation are also part of the job so the final export is ready for upload.
Deliverables for each episode:
• One fully edited 15-30 min video in 4K (or 1080p if footage requires)
• Separate thumbnail frame pulled from the timeline
• Project file so I can make minor tweaks later if needed
Applicants must meet these requirements:
- At least one year of professional experience in video editing.
- Submit a portfolio or links to past work demonstrating relevant expertise.
I shoot in 4K on a Sony mirrorless and keep files organised, so you’ll receive well-labelled folders via Google Drive. Whether you prefer Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve is up to you as long as the final render meets YouTube’s guidelines.
If balancing smooth narrative flow with dynamic, family-friendly flair sounds like your thing, let’s chat about a test project and set a schedule for regular uploads.
If this sounds like a project for you, I would love to have you do a 60 test video of existing footage I will share with you. This isn’t a job for a brand new editor with less than a year of experience.
