VIDEO SCRIPT: Moonlight Sonata (Symphony of Insomnia) by Titus Osikoya
Suggested Background Music:
Slow classical piano with cello undertones (e.g. Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, 1st Movement – slowed with ambient layers)
[00:00–00:03] OPENING SCENE
Visual: Night sky over a calm lake (Lucerne), full moon reflecting on the water. Faint mist rolls in.
Text On Screen (fade in):
Moonlight Sonata
(Symphony of Insomnia)
by Titus Osikoya
Voiceover (soft, reflective):
“The age-long breeze plays in my soul.”
[00:04–00:10]
Visual: A shadowy female figure (Liola) walks near a cello lying beside the lake.
Text On Screen:
“I am Liola, the willing brown Cello
That will drown you in my muted chants...”
Voiceover: continues reading those lines.
[00:11–00:17]
Visual: The lake turns darker. The camera "sinks" under water, blurring slightly.
Text On Screen:
“Dragging you along under Lake Lucerne,
In search of which lost finger of yours...”
Voiceover: softly with slight tension.
[00:18–00:24]
Visual: Fingers trace the cello’s ribs, merging with ripples in water and nerves inside a brain.
Text On Screen:
“To caress my steely ribs this time,
Awakening the movements lost...”
Voiceover: building emotion.
[00:25–00:31]
Visual: A brain lights up like a music hall. Four chambers pulse with notes and shadows of thought.
Text On Screen:
“...in the four chambers of my restless mind.”
Voiceover: whispery, intense.
[00:32–00:40]
Visual: Two faces—eyes entwined—fade in and out. Metallic strings vibrate between them.
Text On Screen:
“With turbulent thoughts, eyes entwined,
Your nights haunted by my alloy strings...”
Voiceover: stronger voice, slight echo.
[00:41–00:48]
Visual: An elderly hand and young hand touch over an old piano. Fog enters a window.
Text On Screen:
“Unfreezing the curse of aged minds,
Wedlock of a true love and a deeper hate...”
Voiceover: heavier tone, cinematic.
[00:49–00:55]
Visual: A slow romantic tango in a dark room, lit only by flickering candlelight.
Text On Screen:
“Tangoing so well in their mutual Staccato,
Burning a most beautiful romantic concert...”
Voiceover: soft but rhythmic delivery.
[00:56–01:03]
Visual: A clock spins wildly, then stops. A face stares into the night. Sheets flutter from an open window.
Text On Screen:
“That will last for another deprived sleep-age.”
Voiceover: slow, dragging tempo.
[01:04–01:14] FINAL SCENE
Visual: Sky transforms into a star map—Gemini constellation glows. It turns into a semicolon.
Text On Screen:
“But that note mimicking the fourth movement,
A contrasting mythological Geminic constellation...”
“...Is the insomnic comma, in my moonlight sonata.”
Voiceover: reverent, closing gently.
[01:15–01:20] OUTRO
Visual: The moon dims slowly as the screen fades to black.
