Cinematic Faceless Crime Documentary Series

Job ID: 40131500

Budget: $2 – $8 USD

I’m producing a new true-crime docu-series that revisits the 1970s–80s Caribbean and global drug-trade era. The entire show is voice-over driven, so no on-camera interviews or host segments; the suspense must live in the cut, the sound design, and the images we build.

The aesthetic I want is stylized and cinematic: think film-grain, slow pushes, purposeful lighting, and a colour palette that feels both period-authentic and gritty. To heighten tension I plan to weave in a mix of live-action recreations or dramatizations along with well-timed animated sequences. Archival footage may appear, but the spine of each episode is crafted material that keeps viewers leaning forward. The narration will remain neutral and factual—the visuals and pacing should carry the emotion.

You’ll be handed researched scripts, recorded VO, select B-roll, and access to stock libraries. From there, your job is to shape a compelling episode: sequence the story, design the sound bed, colour-grade, integrate graphics and lower thirds, and deliver a polished master.

Deliverables
• One fully-edited episode (4K, broadcast-safe)
• A 60–90 sec promo trailer cut from the same material
• Complete project files and asset lists, organised for hand-off

Premiere Pro, After Effects, and/or DaVinci Resolve are all acceptable—use the toolset that lets you work fastest while keeping quality high. Final exports must meet standard streaming specs; detailed tech sheets will follow on award.

If you understand pacing in true crime, enjoy creating suspense without showing faces, and can blend dramatizations with subtle animation seamlessly, this project is ready for you.
