US-Based Solutions Architect / Client-Facing Technical Consultant — Part-Time, Ongoing
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Polance is a software development and IT outsourcing company working with international clients. We're building a small network of US-based senior engineers to support the technical side of our client engagements.
This is not a hands-on development role. You are the technical voice in client conversations; our engineering team handles implementation.
Location requirement: This role is open to candidates based in the United States only. Our clients are primarily US companies, and we need someone who can take calls during US business hours and who understands how US technology teams operate. Please do not bid if you are not currently located in the US.
What you'll do
- Join client scoping calls and technical discussions as Polance's solutions architect
- Explain proposed technical approaches, architecture, and trade-offs
- Translate client requirements into something our delivery team can act on
- Stay involved in project meetings as a technical point of contact through delivery
How it works
- We identify client opportunities and brief you beforehand
- We prepare together ahead of each call — you'll have full context on the proposal
- You represent Polance's technical approach in the conversation
- Once a project is signed, our engineering team builds and delivers it
- You remain available for periodic technical check-ins with the client
You are introduced to clients as Polance's solutions architect. Clients know from the start that a distributed delivery team executes the build — your role is the technical relationship and architecture, not the implementation.
Requirements
- Based in the United States (required)
- Strong senior-level software engineering background across web, backend, or cloud
- Native or near-native English and confidence leading a technical conversation with non-technical or semi-technical stakeholders
- Ability to reason about architecture, scoping, and trade-offs live on a call
- Professional and reliable — you are the first impression clients have of us
Commitment and pay
Part-time and flexible — a few calls per week depending on pipeline. We'll agree on a per-call rate or monthly retainer based on your experience and availability.
In your proposal, please tell us:
- Where in the US you're based, and your time zone
- Your engineering background and strongest technical areas
- Your experience in client-facing, pre-sales, or solutions architecture roles
- Your expected rate (per call or monthly)
Please answer all four — generic proposals will be skipped.
