We need to simulate the removal force when separating 2 pieces of plastic that are connected with a snap lock mechanism

Job ID: 37627586

Budget: £750 – £1,500 GBP

Project Description:
We are seeking a freelancer to help us simulate the removal force when separating two small plastic pieces that are connected with a snap lock mechanism. The plastic pieces are made of polypropylene and we require a medium force to separate them.

It is essentially 2 cylinders with the bigger cylinder snapping on the smaller cylinder thanks to the presence of 2 ridges (one on each cylinder). The total weight of both plastics is around 50g, and the forced aimed for is approximately 30N.

This requires capabilities in modelling the components in 3D, knowledge of plastic material properties and capability to model forces occurring during the interaction of the device.

More information and design images will be shared later on.

Skills and Experience:
- Experience in simulating removal forces for plastic components
- Proficiency in using simulation software (e.g. SolidWorks, ANSYS)
- Knowledge of plastic material properties and behavior
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
