Surface Deburring Machine Design

Job ID: 40418548

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I need a complete design package for a custom surface deburring machine that will work exclusively with metal parts and achieve a smooth, uniform finish. The unit should focus on efficient burr removal rather than traditional grinding or polishing, so the mechanism, media selection and tooling must prioritize consistent overall surface smoothing.

Here is what I’m looking for:
• 3D CAD model (SolidWorks or similar) showing the full machine assembly, guarding and maintenance access
• Detailed manufacturing drawings with tolerances, material call-outs and a bill of materials
• Motor, spindle and media specifications sized for medium-volume metal components

Acceptance criteria:
1. Design demonstrates repeatable deburring without rounding critical edges or launching parts across the shop.
2. All parts 3D printable, off the shelf (McMaster-Carr, etc.), easy to machine in house.
3. Delivered files open error-free and are ready for prototype build.

the parts in question are 3 inch wide by 8 inch long aluminum plates ranging thickness of .05 to .500. both top and bottom surfaces need to be sanded smooth after a drilling operation that leaves push thru burrs on the faces . this design does not need to hit both top and bottom faces at the same time, we can flip and refeed the plate to finish both sides. ideally benchtop size, with as much off the shelf components as possible. we currently use a DA sander with diablo 320-Grit SandNet Disc to achieve an appropriate surface finish.
