Steel Tank FEA Simulation with Ansys
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
FEA Simulation for Cylindrical Steel Tank using Ansys
Project Description:
We're seeking an experienced Ansys engineer to perform a static structural FEA simulation on a cylindrical steel tank. The goal is to determine the suitable sheet thickness for each ring and find the minimum number of bolts to ensure a safe and valid design. Tank 3D model will be provided for the selected engineer upon proposal approval.
Project Requirements:
- Perform FEA simulation using Ansys
- Apply water pressure, wind load, and seismic load on the tank
- Determine suitable sheet thickness for each ring
- Determine the minimum number of bolts that can fasten sheets overlap sufficient for the load
- Provide a video demonstration of the simulation process
- Deliver source files and documented project files
Tank Specifications:
- Diameter: 9.13m
- Height: 4.2m
- Material: Galvanized Iron (GI) sheets
- Sheet dimensions: 1220mm height * 2440mm width
- Initial thickness: 2.5mm (to be determined for each ring)
- Bolted construction with 12mm hex bolts
Simulation Requirements:
- Static structural FEA simulation
- Water pressure on internal surfaces
- Wind load on outer tank wall surfaces
- Seismic load (earthquakes)
Deliverables:
- FEA simulation results
- Suitable sheet thickness for each ring
- Video demonstration of simulation process
- Source files and documented project files
Price: $100
Milestones:
1. Project initiation and understanding (10$ payment)
2. FEA simulation setup and application of loads (30$ payment)
3. Determination of suitable sheet thickness for each ring (15$ payment)
4. Determination of minimum number of bolts that can fasten the tank (15$ payment)
5. Video demonstration and documentation (15$ payment)
6. Final delivery and review (15$ payment)
If you're an experienced Ansys engineer, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your proposal, including your experience, similar works, approach, and timeline.
