STL to SLDPRT Conversion

Job Title:
SolidWorks Expert Needed – Convert 3D Scan STL to Solid Models (Turbocharger Components)
Job Description/Project Overview:
We are seeking an experienced SolidWorks designer to convert 3D scan STL files of a small turbocharger into accurate, solid-body SolidWorks 2020 part files (.sldprt). Basic SolidWorks models of the turbocharger components already exist. However, we require precise 3D scan data integration to refine these models and validate dimensional accuracy.
You will receive:
-Existing SolidWorks part files (.sldprt)
-3D scan STL files (including sand-cast and machined surfaces)
-High-resolution photos
-Key physical measurements
Scope of Work:
-Import and convert STL files into clean, solid SolidWorks (.sldprt) models
-Create assemblies to compare and align existing models with scan data
-Adjust dimensions based on scan and measurement references
-Add or remove minor features where necessary
-Correct geometry errors, ensuring clean, manufacturable models
Important Notes:
-Sand-cast surfaces may be simplified, but machined surfaces must be accurately modeled for dimensional correctness.
-Must be available for virtual meetings (Google Meet, camera optional) to clarify details, discuss tasks, and share information efficiently.
Requirements:
-Proficiency in SolidWorks (2020 or compatible)
-Strong experience working with STL and SLDPRT file formats
-High attention to detail for geometry correction and precision modeling
-Strong skills in reverse engineering, surfacing, and solid modeling workflows
Preferred (Nice to Have):
-Experience working with turbocharger components or similar mechanical assemblies
