**Freelance Opportunity: Mechanical Engineer Proficient in SOLIDWORKS**
We are a leading design firm seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer who is proficient in SOLIDWORKS to work with us on a freelance basis. This is a remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home and be paid hourly.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Quickly modify and update existing 3D CAD models using SOLIDWORKS.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
- Collaborate remotely with our design engineers and project managers to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met.
- Conduct feasibility studies, simulations, and stress analyses on designs as needed.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and best practices.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in SOLIDWORKS, including experience with 3D modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
- Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in a mechanical engineering role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
- Ability to efficiently interpret and work with technical drawings and schematics.
- Must have a stable internet connection and own a licensed copy of SOLIDWORKS.
- Understanding of plastic injection, machining, CNC, 3D printing, and other production and prototyping technologies.
**Preferred Experience:**
- Familiarity with other CAD software such as AutoCAD or others.
- Understanding of various manufacturing processes and materials.
- Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) tools.
- Background in industries such as automotive or aerospace is a plus.
