Product Design With Plastic, Metal, Electronics

Job ID: 40345887

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

I have an idea for a new product that combines electric components housed in a plastic and metal body, and I need help taking it from concept all the way through to production-ready files. Because this covers both design and manufacturing, I’m looking for someone who can think through aesthetics, user-centric functionality, and the practicalities of tooling and assembly in one cohesive workflow.

Scope
• Shape the overall product architecture, choosing how the electric components, plastic parts and metal reinforcements interact.
• Produce clean 3D models and technical drawings ready for CNC, injection moulding, and PCB fabrication.
• Advise on component sourcing and the best manufacturing processes so we avoid surprises when we move to prototypes and small-batch runs.

Acceptance Criteria
✔ Complete CAD files (STEP or native SolidWorks/Fusion 360) with fully defined dimensions and tolerances.
✔ Exploded views and BOM that clearly separate plastic, metal, and electronic sub-assemblies.
✔ Guidance notes on materials, surface finishes, and key assembly steps.

If you have a track record of delivering products that mix electronics with robust plastic and metal enclosures, I’d love to see examples and discuss how we can turn this idea into something tangible.
