New component finalizing and production

Job ID: 32544805

Budget: $15 – $25 USD

Objective:

I need help completing a nearly-finished product design, and with getting the first batch of the product produced.

This is a fabricated steel component, consisting of cut and bent steel tubing and turned steel. It is designed as a bolt-in brace for a particular automobile in order to strengthen this area of the car. Pictures provided are of a 3D-printed prototype.

Skills Needed:

Note - All work is to be done in Solidworks.

(1) Finalize existing 3D model for a fabricated component. There are some minor changes needed.

(2) Create 2D drawings for reference by subcontractors who will manufacture components:

(2a) Steel tube that is bent and cut

(2b) Steel that is turned on a lathe and threaded

(3) Create 3D CAD model of fixtures for production:

(3a) Fixture to hold tubing so that it can be mitered in a CNC mill

(3b) Fixtures to hold steel components in position for welding - proper orientation and positioning is critical

Production Process:

We will have a supplier cut and bend steel tubing, and turn a component on a lathe.

In-house we will use our CNC mill to miter the tubing. In-house we will then weld the assemblies.
