Innovative Cutting Tool Mechanical Design

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to assist with the development of an innovative cutting tool. The project involves designing a compact, efficient cutting mechanism with an integrated storage or collection system for the material being cut.
Key Requirements:
Strong experience in mechanism design and small mechanical assemblies
Expertise with spring-loaded systems, precision cutting, and ergonomic product design
Proficiency in CAD design (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Experience with materials selection for durability and functionality
Ability to produce manufacturing drawings and prototypes for testing
Ability to handle all stages of design, from concept to detailed drawings
Project Scope:
Design a cutting tool with a simple, reliable mechanism.
Develop an integrated collection or storage system for the cut material.
Focus on a compact, lightweight design with ease of use in mind.
Provide manufacturing-ready drawings and detailed specifications for production.
Desired Skills:
Experience in consumer product design, tooling, or similar mechanical product design
Familiarity with spring mechanics, cutting tools, or small handheld devices
Previous work on outdoor products, sports gear, or similar would be an advantage
Ability to collaborate, provide updates, and integrate feedback throughout the design process
