Fiberglass Camper Shell Design for Tacoma

Project Description:
We’re looking for an experienced SolidWorks designer to develop a two-piece fiberglass sliding camper shell for a 2024+ Toyota Tacoma (5ft and 6ft bed versions). The design will be used to fabricate a CNC plug for mold-making and fiberglass production.

Scope of Work:
1. SolidWorks 3D Design of a detachable camper shell (top + bottom pieces).
2. Camper to mount flush along bed rails, with reinforced areas for:
-Roof racks
-Side accessories (e.g., paddleboards)
3. Integration of linear actuators to raise the top section vertically:
-Target interior height when raised: 38–40 inches from bed platform
-Closed height: ~20 inches above truck cab
-Includes flange and seal design (weatherproofed)
4. Design features include:
-Dual-split rear door concept for upper/lower shell access
-Cutouts for exhaust fan and optional A/C unit
-Space-saving over-cab sleeping area
5. Deliverables:
-Full SolidWorks assembly of camper shell
-Separate mold-ready files for CNC plug machining
-Visual integration of camper on 2024 Toyota Tacoma bed (simplified truck model is fine)

No interior build-out required, but layout planning is important.
