Design of a 3D-Printable Floating Object for IoT Water Quality Monitoring System
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Overview:
I’m building an IoT system to monitor various water quality parameters. The system includes multiple sensors, and I need a floating device—approximately 8 to 9 inches in diameter—that can securely carry and protect all components while floating on a water surface like a pond or tank. The design should be stable, waterproof, and suitable for 3D printing.
What I Need Done:
Design a floating enclosure that can hold and protect the following sensors:
pH Sensor
Temperature Sensor
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) Sensor
DO (Dissolved Oxygen) Sensor
Turbidity Sensor
Salinity Sensor
Stay buoyant and stable in water with balanced sensor placement
Include secure compartments or mounts for sensors, microcontroller, battery, and wiring
Deliverables:
3D model file (STL and native CAD format like Fusion 360/SolidWorks)
Technical diagram with accurate measurements and internal layout
Exploded view of components for easy assembly
