Custom Key 3D Model Troubleshooting
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am presently in the middle of testing a personalized key (KW1). I initially had the key 3D printed prior to mass production, but unfortunately, I'm encountering some issues: mainly, the key is not fitting into the lock properly. The problem suspected is the warding.
At this moment, I am in need of an expert to review the STP file and detect any possible issues that may exist and causing this issue. Based on this, your duties will include:
- Reviewing and analyzing the STP file
- Identifying the issue hindering the key from aligning properly in the lock
- Suggest possible solutions to rectify the issue
Since, I couldn't specify the software used to develop the 3D key model, expertise in a variety of CAD software such as AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or SolidWorks will be beneficial. Additionally, understanding of the KW1 key model and its compatibility with locks will be an added advantage.
If you've never tested a 3D printed key on any other lock, that's fine as the same has been the case with me. The root issue lies in the key design which needs to be rectified.
If you are adept in 3D modeling and have an eye for detail, and also have some experience in lock and key design, this project is a good fit for you. Knowledge in locksmithing principles, particularly key warding, will be the cherry on top!
