I need someone to repair a small bronze / brass rod

I have broken a looped section of a a bronze rod that forms part of the mechanism for a binnacle (houses a ship’s compass). If possible, I would like the broken piece to be soldered back in place and the loop closes to form an ‘eye’ - without changing the overall length of the rod. Please see photo below.
