Wobbrock’s Fitts software to perform testing on Amplitudes
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
The goal of this project is to measure the effect of different music genres and tempo on pointing interactions.
Download Wobbrock’s Fitts Study software from the bottom of the page (This software is distributed under the New BSD License agreement).
Find yourself at least an 1 hour time to finish the rest of the tasks.
Run the .exe program and initiate it (Ctr+N) for yourself as a participant with the following parameters:
Subject ID: 1
Trials: 23 (how many clicks the user should do when testing a condition). The first 3 will be considered practice trials and you should not use them in your analysis.
Amplitudes: 255, 384, 512
Widths: 9, 24, 64
Run all Conditions: 10 (each condition will be run 10 times, since we have 10 variations)
Layout: Circles
Write a final short report by organizing your journal notes and plots. Report should include the following:
1. Your plots
2. What were the percentages of errors, average times, velocity, etc?
3. If you know any song in advance and if you felt any change in their mood/performance while listening to it, compared to the rest in each category.
