Mobile App QA Testing & Beta Readiness Validation (iOS & Android)

We are looking for an experienced Mobile App QA Tester / QA Engineer to perform an independent QA review of our consumer mobile application before public beta launch.

The application was developed by an external vendor, and we are seeking an unbiased validation of the full beta version before opening access to more users.

The current beta version includes approximately 40 screens and 45 modals. All screens, modals, core features, and end-to-end user flows must be included in the testing scope.

Scope of Work

1. Functional Testing

Validate all core features and user flows end to end, including:

* Signup and login
* Onboarding
* Profile creation
* Pet profile creation
* Feed interactions
* Post creation
* Stories
* Challenges
* Leaderboards
* Chat
* QR tag functionality
* Notifications
* Account settings
* Account deletion

2. UI/UX Testing

Identify visual bugs, alignment issues, broken layouts, inconsistent behavior, navigation problems, confusing workflows, readability issues, and any user experience problems that could affect adoption or engagement.

3. UX Review & User Journey Assessment

Evaluate the full user journey and provide actionable UX feedback, including:

* First-time user experience
* Onboarding clarity
* Feature discoverability
* Navigation logic
* User flow friction points
* Confusing or unnecessary steps
* Overall usability
* Beta readiness from a user perspective

4. Device & OS Compatibility Testing

The app must be tested on:

* iPhone X and newer models running iOS 16 or later
* Android devices running Android OS 12 through the latest Android release

Testing should cover different Android manufacturers, screen sizes, resolutions, and hardware configurations to identify compatibility issues across supported devices.

The QA tester must verify that the application behaves consistently across supported devices and operating system versions.

5. Light Mode & Dark Mode Testing

Validate that the app works correctly in both Light Mode and Dark Mode, including:

* Visual consistency
* Text readability
* Color contrast
* Icon visibility
* Image rendering
* Layout behavior
* Overall user experience across both themes

6. Performance & Real-World Usage Testing

Test the app under normal and real-world usage conditions, including:

* App loading time
* Feed scrolling
* Media loading and playback
* QR tag scanning responsiveness
* Rapid user interactions
* Background switching
* App resume behavior
* Poor or unstable network connectivity

7. Regression Testing

After the development vendor fixes reported bugs, perform a regression testing cycle to confirm:

* Reported issues were fixed
* Fixes did not break existing functionality
* Critical user flows still work correctly
* The app is ready for beta release

Deliverables Required

1. Test Cases Document

Provide a document or spreadsheet listing the test cases executed, including:

* Feature tested
* Test scenario
* Device used
* OS version
* Pass / Fail result
* Notes where applicable

2. Detailed Bug Report

Provide a spreadsheet in Excel or Google Sheets format including:

* Bug ID
* Bug description
* Feature / screen affected
* Steps to reproduce
* Expected behavior
* Actual behavior
* Severity: Critical / High / Medium / Low
* Priority
* Device model
* OS version
* Screenshot or screen recording link
* Status

3. Visual Evidence

Screenshots and/or screen recordings are required.

Screen recordings are required for Medium, High, and Critical bugs whenever possible.

4. UX Summary

Provide a concise UX review covering:

* Onboarding experience
* Usability issues
* User flow friction points
* Confusing areas
* Improvement recommendations
* Overall beta readiness

5. Regression Report

After fixes are delivered by the development vendor, provide a regression report confirming which issues were fixed, which issues remain open, and whether the app is ready for beta launch.

Required Experience

* Proven experience in Mobile App QA Testing
* Experience testing iOS and Android applications
* Must test on real physical devices, not only simulators/emulators
* Experience with TestFlight for iOS
* Experience with Android testing distribution tools such as Firebase App Distribution, APK, or similar

* Ability to provide structured, actionable, and well-documented QA reports

Preferred Experience

Experience testing consumer-facing mobile applications such as:
